Some Tips for Your Knitting Experience.....

  • Don't allow yourself to become frustrated. I have provided a ton of pictures, but have only done so to show you almost every movement of my hands in order to make the process more simple for you to understand. Start at the bottom of the blog and work your way up. You can enlarge any of the pictures to get a better view of what each step should look like.
  • Try not to pull your stitches too tight, they should be able to slide on the needle with ease.
  • Try to never stop in the middle of a row. If you do have to, remember that the side that has yarn hanging off of it belongs in your right hand.
  • Dark yarns are harder to see your stitches and I would not recommend them for your first project.
  • If you get stuck, post a comment and we can make sure you get the help you need!
  • I hope that this is informative and if you have a better way to explain a step, feel free to post it.
  • I can't wait to see your progress!!!!!

Hi Ditty!!!! You're doing such a good job explaining this! We had an excellent teacher in Gramma!:o) You're way farther along than I am though...I can't do that afghan zig zag stich yet...but you also knit more often than I do! Keep it up! You'll have SO many people knitting like a pro in no time!

Love you!
Mandie

Mandie is wrong, she can do that stitch. She knows how to decrease, and yarn over is easy so she just needs to try it.
Love you both,
Gramma

Ok, I'm working at it. I have to admit, I cheated. As I told you my comprehension is TERRIBLE!! So, my mom and I called on a friend (she knitted me a lot of my dish rags) to help us out. She read your instructions and said yep, she explained it perfectly. Which I already knew! But, she helped me to understand visually. I think that in the future I might be able to understand a little better now. Thank you again!! And like I said, it was totally me and NOT you!!

Love,
Julie

Mandie, you can totally do it! I know you can!!!

Julie, I am glad that you were able to call on someone to help you out. I wish I knew how to do a video, that would work much better I think. Be sure to send pics of your progress!!!

Hey Julie, that is good you have someone, I told Kristy it would be easier if the people had someone to call on.
