Now you are ready to start "casting on". This is the process of putting the desired number of stitches on the needle for your project. For this project, we are using 15 stitches. This will create a thin scarf that will wrap easily and will also give you a much more quick finish on the project.
For the first step, hold the needle with the knot on it in your left hand with the tip toward your index finger. With the other needle in your right hand, insert the tip into the stitch on the left needle. The right needle will go in the front and should end up behind the left needle. See the picture for better look. You are coming up from the bottom side of the stitch on the right side and coming out on the top left side.
